Gas Lantern FAQs  Gas Lantern FAQs

Finishes And Materials

Q. What Material the Lanterns are made of?
A. All the Primo Lanterns are made with 22 gauge copper, while the Solara Lanterns are made with 18 gauge steel sheets and scrolls.

Q. What finish options are available?
A. Primo Lanterns are available in bronze finish only. Solara Lanterns come in aged copper, antique bronze, antique copper, antique gold, black, copper patina and pewter color finishes.

Lamp Ignition Options

Q. What is the difference between manual gas, electric, and electronic gas ignition?
A. A manual gas fixture is composed of a manual gas valve with a built in safety shut off valve. In case the flame should accidentally go out, the valve will automatically shut off the gas. An electronic gas fixture has an electronic system that re ignites the fixture with an electronic spark. It also comes with the safety shut off feature. An electric lantern does not run with gas as it uses electricity.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Q. How Can I keep my Lantern clean?
A. Always use soap and water to clean the glass of the lantern. Do not use any cleaning solution with ammonia to clean the lantern.

Q. What is causing the soot to build up on my lantern?
A. It is required that you clean the lantern after every 4 months. Insects are also one of the major factors which contribute to clogged parts.

Safety

Q. Do I need an exterior shutoff gas valve for each lantern?
A. You have to consult your city code requirements on this issue.

Q. Is it safe to run gas lanterns at my house?
A. Yes, it safe as long as you have the appropriate connections by a certified or licensed plumber.

Q. What voltage is required to operate the electronic gas lanterns, are these low voltage?
A. These lanterns operate on 110V, but we use a 24V transformer for low voltage usage inside the electric gas unit.
